Chess in 3D

A living board in your browser. An opponent in seconds, a bot with no mercy, and after checkmate the board shows you exactly who finished you off.

Right in the browser: on a desktop, a phone, or even a gamepad.

01 / 04

A board you will want to spin

Marble, obsidian and brass in honest 3D. Orbit with the right mouse button or a single finger, zoom with the wheel or a pinch. Light and shadow are computed live, and the quality adjusts itself to keep the frame rate up.

02 / 04

An opponent in seconds

Quick play finds you a living opponent. Want a specific one? Create a room and send a friend the code. Nobody around? A bot on three levels: beginner, amateur, master. The last one does not forgive.

03 / 04

The clock ticks, the rating climbs

Time control with an increment per move: when the flag falls, the game is over. Live games count towards your rating and the leaderboard. Bot games are practice only and never touch your stats.

04 / 04

Checkmate, explained square by square

When the game ends, the board explains why the king had nowhere to go: attacked squares are crossed out, squares blocked by his own pieces are hatched, and a beam runs from every piece that holds a square. Not just “mate”, but who delivered it.

Mechanics

Full rules. No mercy.

Castling, en passant, promotion with a choice of piece, draws by threefold repetition, the fifty-move rule and insufficient material. The engine knows everything an arbiter knows.

  • 01

    Quick play and rooms

An opponent within seconds. Or your own room: the code goes to a friend, everyone else joins as a spectator and watches the game live.

  • 02

    A bot on three levels

Beginner, amateur, master. It thinks in a separate thread while you spin the camera. Bot games never touch your rating or your stats.

  • 03

    Checkmate breakdown

After mate, the board shows who holds every square around the king: crosses, hatching, beams. A win comes with an explanation, a loss with a lesson.

  • 04

    Spectators, ratings, chat

Watch other people's games, climb the leaderboard, argue in the room chat or the global one. Any game can be copied as PGN.

  • Mouse, touch, gamepadClick, tap or d-pad: the board obeys all of them.
  • Auto-flip boardThe board turns towards the side to move. Prefer it fixed? Pin it.
  • Move hintsDots on the squares you can move to. One checkbox turns them off.
  • Replay any moveClick a move in the list and the board shows that position.
  • Quality follows the frame rateThree graphics presets plus auto: frames matter more than looks.
  • Connection dropped? The game reconnects on its own and puts you back in the match.

Frames

What it actually looks like

No concept art: every frame here is straight from the game, exactly as it runs in the browser.

Your move. Or your mate.

Someone is already waiting. The bot certainly is.
